You’re Sew Vain was formed in November 2005 by two creative chicks, Karen Hubert and Laurie Mendieta, who both had a similar dream of owning a unique boutique offering high-quality personalized gifts and corporate items. We opened our doors in April 2006 in the beautifully renovated Vogue Center.

To make our idea even more unique, we decided to offer “while you wait” monogramming! All of our embroidery is performed in house, so not only do we maintain control of how quickly the work gets done, but we also pride ourselves on high quality control. Nothing is delivered to our customers unless we’re satisfied with it!

Prior to joining forces, Laurie had a home-based embroidery business for 10 years, doing mostly corporate wearables. Karen left a 13-year corporate job to work part-time at her children’s school and operated a side business designing custom handbags, window treatments, and other home fashions. With loving support from their friends and families, Laurie and Karen took a leap of faith and You’re Sew Vain was born.
